about

To go along with Mao's a "revolution is not a picnic", there is never an ideal time for revolution or change. Things don't simply smooth themselves out, and there is never going to be a perfect time to create change. That change is, indeed, a violent act (not necessarily, so literally, of course). I also thought about Kafka's "In a Penal Colony" and the apparatus in its absurdity, and the stubborn belief in its function. I also liked what Marx said: "For instance, one man is king only because other men stand in the relation of subjects to him. They, on the contrary, imagine that they are subjects because he is king."

lyrics

A smooth transition
For a better life,
To cut off frustration
Without a knife.
So, we wait in faith
That "time heals all",
That change comes with a lubricant,
Explosive violence will touch us all.

Fear the violence-
Time's not on our side.
Feel the violence-
Time's not on our side.

We grease the machine
In hopes it'll change its task,
Enabling the usual-
Accepting roles that it cast.
Satisfied in slavery
To a device that we control;
Masters of their own destiny
Toil to forfeit such a role.

Fear the violence-
Time's not on our side.
Feel the violence-
Time's not on our side.
